To tat, we have scarf ends. Knit projects are a babushka, mittens with names, and pan holders. Items to crochet include a heart vanity set, table runner, Pineapple Wreath Doily, and filet bird chair set. Also to crochet are a baby cardigan, hat, and booties, a handkerchief sachet, buffet set and a butterfly to applique on guest towel or pillowcase. To sew & embroider, we have Grandma's flower garden quilt square, and February Fair Maiden. One creative woman made curtains and bedspread to match from bandanas. Instructions are provided to make a needle punch rose. Do you remember making yarn dolls? One woman sold many yarn doll bunnies for lapel pins. She made miniature ones to put into Easter cards. Recipes this issue are "Log Cabin" Chocolate Cake and Valentine White Cake, White Icing, Cherry Pudding and a Cherry Sauce. Aunt Ellen discusses "freezer lockers" and how to properly freeze food. "Scrap Fun for Everyone" has 401 projects that anyone can make with a few scraps. "The Painted Tray and Free Hand Bronzing" covers collecting tinware and trays. The author also gives detailed instructions and includes patterns for those who wish to paint their own.
