Purse embroidered in Berlin woolwork

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BERLIN WOOLWORK EMBROIDERED PURSE RETICULE c1860

Wonderful antique early Victorian purse, which has been produced from Berlin woolwork embroidery. The woolwork panel has been hand sewn in a geometric design, using stunning brightly coloured threads. The purse has been trimmed with green cord, which forms carrying handle, with matching tassels to each edge. A similar item is illustrated on Wikipedias article about Berlin woolwork.
