Pullan, Ladies Manual of Fancy Work: Golden Tapestry Patterns, are designed in three shades of gold, with a plain dark ground. Two of the gold shades are a sort of brownish yellow, the lightest always yellow silk. With claret, blue or green ground, this style of work is very rich and chaste looking. Borders for table-covers are especially handsome in it; and by care with the grounding it will correspond with any kind of furniture. https://archive.org/stream/ladysmanualoffan1859pull#page/30/mode/2up

Eight traditional German maxims
|
Eight single sheets, probably from one booklet, printed in red and green on a green grid. Each has a traditional maxim, about food (give us today our daily bread, clean kitchen and good wine cellar means a tasty meal, a happy face is the best dish, drink and eat and do not forget God), about the clean linens (grown in sun and wind and bleached on green grass it lies now in the locker as pride for the German housewife), about the house (sweet home is happiness only), about patience (do not hurry, good things will wait), and about work (work is an ornament to people - blessing is the reward of effort). Some damage to the bottom of a few patterns, but missing parts have been reconstructed.

Beaded bag No. 1
Den Haan & Wagenmakers, Edam
|
Pattern for a knitted bag with beading, also suitable for cross-stitch. A parrot sitting on a fence looking down at a dog. The top of the bag has a floral border which can be used independently. The bottom of the bag is a floral design with three red flowers, and blue leaves on a lighter blue background.
The middle pattern has an error; the pillar behind the dogs tail does not run all the way to the bottom. Also, the mountain in the background is cut off rather abruptly. Probably this is an adaption of a larger pattern, that has been cropped to suit the dimensions of the bag.
From the Collection DHW, "35 Breipatronen van antieke kralentassen", published with permission of Wim Wagenmakers en Rudolf den Haan, edited and charted by Sytske Wijnsma.
